Eyeballs‏

Eyeballs‏: April 6th, 2015

Dear Family and Friends,
This week was nuts. It was great, but like always, very crazy.
General Conference was so good! How could anyone not love it? The thing that struck me most is how amazing and inspired the leaders of the church are. I mean, if they can stay awake for 10 hours of Conference at 90 years old, then so can anyone. :)
Over the course of my mission, I've developed the love for spicy food, but this week I think I may have met my match.  Because I'm super white, I love to impress the members who give us dinner with how much chile I can handle on my food or just eat the peppers solo. At the Gonzalez house, la Hermana gave me and Elder Parry two little orange peppers and a warning that she wasn't responsible for any hospital visits. One bite and 30 seconds of chewing was the rule and I conquered that little challenge, but about 30 seconds after swallowing, my mouth exploded in fire and tears began to come out of my eyes. And this is where the biggest mistake I've ever made on my mission happened.
I touched my eyes with the hand that I ate the chile with.
So I knocked a couple of picture frames off the wall as I stumbled through their house to find a bathroom and desperately tried to wash the lava from my eyeballs for 15 minutes. Good news is that I still have sight in my eyes, I think. It was a great memory.
Other than that we've just been trying to find new families to teach. We found this family this week that we've got a return appointment with and they've already given us referrals. Things are looking up! Hang in there and don't let your Spring allergies stop ya. I believe I've sneezed a million times this weekend. My poor companions.
Mucho amor!

(Shout out to La Hermana Villanueva who made a brief stop through the Kaw River Ward on her way back home to Arizona with her family. Bueno suerte Abuelita!)

Oh Chinos....‏

Oh Chinos....‏: March 30th, 2015

Dear Family and Friends,
This week was amazing.
So many blessings (and crazy stories to let you know about) happened this week.
First off, Jerardo got baptized and confirmed this weekend! What a whirlwind of events. About everything that could've went wrong seemed to happen and after correcting all of the problems (no program, no speakers, no people, no keys, filling the font) the last one and most frustrating of all was opening the curtains to the baptismal font. The curtains! After an hour of me getting so stressed to the point of ripping the metal apart, and 15 minutes after the baptismal service began, we got it open. I guess God was just running on Latino time.
So after every muscle in my body relaxed after finally seeing Jerardo confirmed in Sacrament meeting, we had the blessing of going to the Independence Visitor Center to go through a tour with my family the Wilson's and Nana, from St. Joe. Man, I sure do miss them. It was like reuniting with family again. It was good to see my old comp Elder Garrick and be extremely short again.
The final story of the week, just to be funny, is about Shelton. We found Shelton through a less-active family in the ward and he is super thug, but loves "the word, bro". Don't judge because I've never had someone explain Moroni 10 to me with such clarity after having read it only once. After our killer first lesson, we asked him for other people that we might be able to teach and he led us upstairs to his sister Monique. He then awkwardly abandoned us in her room, where she was half asleep and super creeped out by three missionaries, with "have a fun prayer session, Elders!" So, after a hasty prayer and dodging a sketchy situation, we have one more person to teach. Shelton's my man, ya know.
Well sure do love ya'll. Mucho amor.

Hello Kitty‏

Hello Kitty‏: March 23rd, 2015

Dear Family and Friends,
This week has been really good. We've been doing a lot more service now, due to lack of afternoon appointments and trying to find people to teach through that. Tuesday we dug dirt from under a house for a family so that they can build a basement one day. At the rate we are going it's going to be about four years before that happens. Saturday we did a bunch of yard Spring cleaning for a part member family and got to eat some killer pollo afterwards.
Jerardo is on date for this Saturday and gets home from his vacation today so we have TONS to do to get him prepped for his baptism. Pray that everything works out. Being a Spanish service, I know that something dramatic is going to go down. Man, I love drama.
So some random notes of business to let ya'll know about: We are officially professional squirrel hunters--we clean up road kill from the streets and make decorative rear view mirror ornaments for all the missionaries in the zone. Can you tell that Elder Parry is kind of a red neck? One of my companions told me once how many Latinos think that Hello Kitty is a symbol for Satan and now I notice it EVERYWHERE--every dinner appointment, every lesson, every other car. Yesterday we went the whole day without seeing Hello Kitty, but she made her appearance in Meet the Mormons when we went with a less-active family to the Independence Visitor Center. (Hello Kitty is on the boxer's shorts hint hint) Oh and Martez's mugger lives in our apartment building. So good, right?
Mucho amor and beware of Hello Kitty,
Elder Beau Hart

Running Shoes‏

Running Shoes‏: March 16th, 2015

Dear Family and Friends,
Things are not calming down around here one bit. This week was nuts. Mom just skip to the end where I say "Mucho amor" and attach photos.
Just last night we came home at 9:30 and found a man laying in the street outside of our apartment moaning and begging for help. So we take our stuff up to our apartment, put on good running shoes, and went back out to help our new friend Martez. So Martez, despite being a little buzzed, managed to explain to us how he had just been tripped and thought he broke his ankle during a mugging. So my wonderful companions Elder Parry and Elder Gomez began to help him to his feet, during which, guess who arrived? His mugger! My first instinct was, "How can we help ya', Sir?" He just stared blankly at us in response. Then we explained that we were going to help Martez get to the nearby gas station so his main man, Lil Rob could come pick him up. Then we turned around and after 10 minutes of hobbling and waiting a bit, we made sure that Martez had a safe ride home. Still didn't get to share a copy of the Book of Mormon with Martez's mugger though. Next time, though, right?
Oh, and this week I went to my first strip club! We've been helping out a (very very very) less active member this week because a while back his business burned down. Things must have been a little too hot. Man, so many awful jokes, sorry. We are trying to help him take photos of everything so that he can collect some insurance. Sadly, I didn't have my camera with me, but I'll sure to send some pictures of me and the poles next time.

Other than that, we've been doing service out the whazzoo and trying to find new people to teach. Things are slow in that department, but I don't if I could keep up with it if it were with all of the other stuff we have going on in our lives.
Well, sure do love ya' all.
Mucho amor!
--Elder Beau Hart
(We have to take two pictures with most everything now because my selfie skills can't keep up with the trio)

It's.... ALIVE!!!‏

It's.... ALIVE!!!‏: March 10th, 2015

Hey Family and Friends,
This week was better and so much more crazy!
First off, the trio is back alive! Wednesday, after a meeting the Assistants to the President pulled me aside and asked if I would like to start training another missionary again...in two hours. So after driving literally half way around the mission, dropping off other missionaries we were carpooling with and picking up my companion, Elder Parry, we returned to Independence to pick up Elder Gomez from the sweet land of California.
We got in a car accident this week after someone rear ended us. The lady thought it was the oddest thing that the first thing out of my mouth, was "dang, I don't want to walk this week." She made sure to look at us like we were the strangest two teenagers in the world, before she took off. Kansas City craziness.
Funny story, Elder Gomez and I got up at 5:30 this morning to go sprinting, but after getting out of bed, we heard someone light up their pistol a couple of times and quickly decided that maybe it was best if we slept until 6:30. What can you do?

I just want to say that I love giving prayers with homeless/drunk people that ask us on the street. So much fun! So many people just come up to us and ask us, they must think that I give special prayers or something, but really I'm just a 19 year old in a tie, trying to keep it serious while cars zoom by and ladies shout out cat calls after me. (That last part is a lie, sorry. I'm a sinner)
Well, thanks for the prayers. I sure do miss ya all.
Mucho amor,
Elder Beau Hart

Rough Stuff‏

Rough Stuff‏: March 2nd, 2015

Hey Family and Friends,
This week was kind of rough stuff. Saturday, after having fought health problems for an extended period of time, Elder Enamorado went home. Man, do I miss him. It's been a tough period in my mission, having lost one of my best friends, but I know that this is the best for him. He'll always be a hero in my life. Thank you so much for all of the prayers and love on his behalf.
Sorry this is short. I don't feel like writing, but I just want to say that I am so grateful for my super funny and almost illegally happy companion Elder Parry. I couldn't for anyone better right now.
Mucho amor,
--Elder Beau Hart
(P.s. I know that the Lord is really trying to make me laugh, because for the past 5 minutes I've helped a nun, in full proselyting clothing with her speakers here in the library. Coexistence! We exchanged numbers and some tracting info.)

Break Some Ice‏

Break Some Ice‏: February 23rd, 2015

Dearest Family and Friends,
Transfers came this week and now Elder Enamorado and I are rocking it with Elder Parry! It's a trio, baby! Members and even people we talk to on the street are super confused to see three Mormons walking around--people with alligators get less looks than we do. The great thing about having Elder Parry with us now is that he already knows a lot about the ward because he served here the transfer before I came.
We are doing work here in the craziness of Kansas City now! It's freezing, but we are working hard and smart. We had Jerardo at church again on Sunday and he's progressing towards baptism in March. We might have to break ice to get him into the font, but it will happen. There's only one direction we're taking the great Kaw River ward and that's up!

Also, I wanted to let you know that if I appear chubbier in future photos it's because I'm eating my emotions due to my best friend, Elder Buehner finished his mission like a champion this past week. Love ya' buddy!

I'm drawing a blank and I want to go play some volleyball so next week will be a better and funnier email.

Sure do love you all!
--Elder Beau Hart

The Spirit of Love‏

The Spirit of Love‏: February 17th, 2015

Dear Beloved Family and Friends,
This week was interesting and amazing to say the least. Valentine’s Day was a smashing hit for Elder Corazon and Elder Enamorado. It was the easiest day of my mission to knock some doors and people were fascinated by our last names. I love the work!
Saturday we had a follow-up appointment with our fellow missionary from the Jehovah’s Witness faith. What an exciting time to be in McDonald’s for our appointment. Just before our friend arrived, I ate some well-prepared fine dining. To our surprise our friend brought another companion to hear our message and provide some insight into our lesson. They pulled out there Bibles and began to raise some interesting questions about our religion and their beliefs over which we had an interesting discussion and about 45 minutes later left. What a friendly little visit it was.
So to be real, this is what went down Saturday at our follow-up fight with the our JW friend. Elder Enamorado and I squeezed into an overly busy morning rush of people and before our “appointment” I pounded a McGriddle and some parfaits to give me the energy to throw down if it came to that. Our friend, brought some bashing back up to the lesson, because apparently two 19-year-old boys are a little intimidating to someone that has “over 30 years of experience studying the Bible”. They slammed their Bibles down on the table after some polite introductions, and before I knew it I had to shove the rest of my meal down my face to help “clear up some misconceptions” that they clearly had about our religion. Turns out that they were willing to drive to a McDonalds, bash with two teenage “boys” (quote them), and waste 45 minutes of my mission, but wouldn’t even open the front cover of the Book of Mormon. What’s a matter? It could be right? Talk about spirit of contention. Lots of lessons learned on Saturday.
Other than that, we’ve actually been finding people that think we are servants of the Lord and not just two teenagers running around Kansas City and we are seeing progress. Nothing can stop this work. I love the mission and serving the Lord. Elder Enamorado is doing lots better now. Thanks for all of the prayers on his behalf.
Now let’s do work this week!
 Mucho amor,
 Elder Beau Hart
(Valentine’s Selfies and a forward of someone who sent me a cat selfie because I love them.)

Dogs, Drunks, and Dollar Tacos‏

Dogs, Drunks, and Dollar Tacos‏: February 9th, 2015

Hey Family and Friends!
Happy Valentine's Day from Elder Corazon and Elder Enamorado or Elder Hart and Elder In Love.

Member's are loving our last names.
Elder Enamorado is feeling tons tons tons better this week! Hallelujah! We've made it out of the apartment and had such an insane week. It snowed again here in the great Kansas City. Such a little tiny bit, but apparently that's more than is back in Utah.
Saturday we had a wedding in the ward of a recent convert and man, do Latinos know how to throw a party. I haven't seen such big speakers at a concert in my life! Tacos, chorizo, regeton music. I was in heaven! Man, I miss dancing, but obedience brings blessings.

We don't have many people that we are working with, but we have tons of a potential this week. I mean, we got a return appointment to teach a Jehovah's Witness that knocked on our door. Investigators are coming to us now! I love serving in the Great Kaw River Ward! Kansas City is crazy, but I love it. Dogs, drunks, dollar tacos, the whole nine yards.

Mucho amor,

--Elder Beau Hart

Prison Apartment‏

Prison Apartment‏: January 26th, 2015

Hey Family and Friends,
Hope you had a great week! Things are still low-key for Elder Enamorado and me here in Kansas City. Again, we spent the majority of the week incarcerated in our apartment, with freedom being bought at the price of doing exchanges with the other missionaries in the surrounding areas. It was liberating to be out and about doing good for the Lord and serving others. Elder Maaelopa--from Samoa--went with me Thursday and I about died from laughter. His accent and the sheer deepness of his voice made everything he say either very profound or absolutely ridiculous. "Elder Hart, why are there so many black people here? I love black people. (Then he began to count the people) Black, black, black, white, black, Mexican, black...." Foreign missionaries, right?
I love the Kaw River Ward, the members are taking good care of us and we have heaps of team ups planned for the upcoming week so we can get do work. Hope things are going well in your neck of the woods.

Mucho amor,

Elder Beau Hart

Cardiologists and Cat Burglars‏

Cardiologists and Cat Burglars‏: January 20th, 2015

Hey Family and Friends,

First off, someone just stole something from the library and the officer standing guard just chased her down right in front of view out the windows here in downtown KC. I love the city. So. Much. Drama.

This week has been rough stuff. My companion has been having heart problems and so we have been confined to our apartment these past few days. Hopefully, we will get in to see the Cardiologist today. The other thing is that I've learned how much I love to work. I've hated being trapped in our tiny apartment serving no good purpose. Pray that my comp gets better so that we can hit the streets again soon.

I hope things are full of excitement and drama wherever you may be.

Mucho amor,

Elder Beau Hart

The Great Kaw River Ward‏

The Great Kaw River Ward‏: January 12th, 2015

HEEELLLLLLLOOOOOO Family and Friends!

Greeting from "The Great Kaw River Ward"! I am back at my home (in the mission at least) and serving in the Kansas half of downtown Kansas City. How great is that? I can finally sleep at night again--there are sirens all the time! Oh how I love the city....

And the story gets better, my companion is Elder Enamorado Dubon (aka the BEST). My Hondurian Homedog has been rocking it here in the states for the past year. He's just starting out his mission (I'm his adoptive Dad or second trainer) and we are killing it!

I don't have much time, but I sure do love all of ya'. I'm bummed to leave Dirty Joe, MO, but this transfer is going to be heaven. Wish me luck!

Mucho amor,

--Elder Beau Hart

Good ol' Mormon Mom‏

Good ol' Mormon Mom‏: January 5th, 2015

Dear Family and Friends,
Christmas is still happening. This week was amazing. The mission is the most rewarding experience I’ve ever had.
This week has been a blur. Friday I received a Training Call or in mission lingo, I’m pregnant! I’m becoming a good ol’ Mormon Mom now, this being my third child. This Thursday I’ll find out what new area I will be in and which new missionary I’ll be working with. Man, I almost feel bad for my companion having to deal with me and my pregnancy hormones. I’m so excited!
Oh, another hiccup this week was when I got food poisoning. Fun stuff, huh? Man, I never thought one bad meal could do so much damage. Poor Elder Garrick had to deal with me working a toilet over at Walgreens for an hour the other night and keep dodging employees trying to sell him their latest wares. The one upside to my stomach churning hay day is that I lost all of the weight I put on from Christmas!
Saturday the Graff’s were sealed in the Kansas City Temple and I had the blessing of attending. We arrived early in the morning having traversed storm soaked highways, roads, and a gloomy overcast to find the temple like a beacon in the darkness with its lights illuminating the Angel Moroni. I couldn’t have asked for a more blissful day. Elder Garrick and I had the privilege of being with the Graff’s on their special day to make their relationship and family one of eternal nature. I’m so grateful that I’ve had the opportunity to witness the changes they’ve made in their lives and how far they’ve come. And I’m even more grateful for the Graff’s and the lifelong friends they’ve become to me.
Make it a great week!
Mucho amor,
Elder Beau Hart
(Due to scheduling conflicts, we couldn't get a photo with the Graff's outside of the temple, but here's the closest thing. And here's a picture of a squirrel that we killed with our call. How horrible is that?)

Elder Hart, get out of the bathroom!‏

Elder Hart, get out of the bathroom!‏: December 29th, 2014

Dear Family and Friends,
Because I know you are all dying to know, yes, I weighed in 4 pounds heavier than usual the day after Christmas. I am winning, if you consider winning being a slob and stuffing your face at buffets, members homes for five meals a day, and downing 3 tamales at 9 o clock before scurrying on home. Christmas was great! We spent the morning with the Wilson family opening gifts and polishing off a pan of cinnamon rolls. Then we made some visits and contacted people throughout the afternoon until we called our families. Having been gone from home for this long, I think I forgot that my family is crazy—the clinical kind. Man, I love ‘em tons. After that, we played the most intense of game of Jenga ever. Sadly, after an hour and half of precarious stacking, I lost the game and had to drink a full glass of egg-nog (I hate egg-nog). All in all, after keeping down a gut full of the nasty concoction and tamales without vomiting, it was definitely one of the best Christmases of all time.
Speaking of vomit, one of the funniest moments of my mission, was Christmas Eve hanging out with the other elders. I was doing my business in the men's room at our house, when another Elder, who had been complaining and moaning all night about his stomach, burst in, bellowing, "Elder Hart, get out of the bathroom!" I barely dodged out of the way in time to watch him cover our toilet, floor, and even the wall, in his stomach juices. It's always a good party when someone pukes.
Another highlight of the week was the baptism of Aundasey Wilson. She’s the daughter of converts (family mentioned above) and we had the opportunity to teach her the lessons. They are simply the greatest family. I love getting to know so many wonderful people in the great land of Missouri.
Oh and before I go, Travis, he and his wife are returning members that Elder Sjoblom and I contacted about 6 months ago, was set apart as the Second Counselor in the Elders Quorum Presidency yesterday! Victory! The mission is so rewarding, especially when you have the blessing to see people progress so quickly. Hopefully, I send you some pics in the coming weeks of them at the temple getting sealed.
Mucho amor,
Elder Beau Hart

Feliz Navidad‏

Feliz Navidad‏: December 22nd, 2014

Dear Family and Friends,
This week was super duper great. We’ve been slaving away at a family’s dance studio in the ward, Truth Academy, trying to get it all painted. I love doing service! And it’s even better to see a project come together. Maybe one of these days I’ll make my way to the main floor and show the ladies a thing or two about shaking it. I mean, they don’t call me Elder “Hips Don’t Lie” Hart for nothin’.
We ventured to the northern reaches of the Missouri Independence Mission last Wednesday for exchanges with the Elders in Maryville. Those brave Elders Hansen and Fullmer are absolutely nuts. I love those guys. Elder Hansen and I visited all the crazies in the little college town and I got a real taste of the actual “Boonies”. On top of all of the antics, 3D photos of tigers in bathrooms, slushie yogurt hybrid drinks at Caseys, and Anti-Mormon Preachers—we received our first “big” snowfall. Winter has come my friends.
We were a little disappointed that all of the people that we committed to come to church ended up...not coming. I don’t know how to be more poetic with that one, but despite that, it was a good week. We met tons of new people and have lots of visits to make in the next couple of days.
Speaking of the next couple of days, Merry Christmas! I hope you all have plans to pig out and kick back with the family. I love you all and wish the best.
#ShareTheGift
Mucho amor y Feliz Navidad,
Elder Beau Hart

Busy Week

Busy Week: December 8th, 2014

Hey Family and Friends!

Hope you had a great week! Our week was SO BUSY! We had so much going on and I don't even have that much time to tell you. Tuesday we had Stake correlation and stayed up until 1 in the morning figuring out zone milage with the other Zone Leaders. Four hours late we were up and on our way to Independence for Mission Leadership Council. Seems like that one comes way to often. The mission flies. Friday was Zone Training and interviews with President and Sister Vest. Saturday we helped a Brother in the ward move and drove over an hour for a baptism for Elder Garrick. Sunday was church and then the First Presidency Devotional. It was nuts to say the least.
Between all of these activities we had a lot go on. The week was rough. We were dropped by a good chunk of what little investigators we do have. I'm not going to lie, Sunday came and I was quite depressed, but the lesson that I'm learning from it all is that things are always good. God is good. One of the less-actives, now a returning member, got a calling on Sunday and she and her husband are on their way to the temple. Never give up.
Mucho amor por todos.

Snakes, Alligators, Deer, and Rednecks‏

Snakes, Alligators, Deer, and Rednecks‏: December 1st, 2014

Hey Family and Friends!

How are all ya'll? Man, I hope that you had a great Thanksgiving, but really, I'm just sad that you didn't get to be here with me over the holiday having a true "Missura" Thanksgiving. Thursday, my tripanionship with Elder Nyholm and Elder Lokeni ended, and I picked up Elder Garrick from Independence and took him to Amazonia, Missouri, population 312 for a classic, moonshine Turkeyday. Between three types of turkey, two hams, one deer, four chickens, and a snake, we were beyond stuffed for the day. And to top it all off, we got to go play with the alligator the Hurt/Dinning/Crumb Clan keeps in their bathroom. Who knew the mission would be so fun?
Aron is still progressing. He came to church this last week, but it looks like his baptism is going to be pushed back because he's struggling to give up smoking. Man, addictions are tough. Please keep him in your prayers.
Well, Elder Garrick and I have seen tons of miracles this week, especially while tracting. Even the cold can't stop the Lord's work. Well, I sure do love ya'll. Hope all is well, wherever you are.
Mucho amor.

Elder Beau Hart

Mind over Bladder‏

Mind over Bladder‏: November 24th, 2014

Hey Family and Friends,
Hope you are having a great week because I am out here!
Sad news, Elder Sjoblom has abandoned me and in two days will be reunited with his family. The "Weber High Fiesta" in St. Joe has officially ended. He's the first missionary that I've had "die" (mission slang) with me, so you can call me a killer now. I've learned so much these past four months from that stallion of righteousness and am nervous to find out who will be my new companion come Thursday. For now, I'm in a "tripanionship" with Elder Nyholm and Elder Lokeni from the 2nd Ward. We should have tons of fun.
Good news, our investigator, Aron is progressing like crazy and coming to stake conference and loving the Book of Mormon. It's so much fun to teach! I love to see people progress and learn and develop their faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Elder Sjoblom and I have been so busy these last few days that we don't have time for ourselves, not even to use the restroom. Between bouncing from appointment to appointment, we've had to strengthen our mental fortitude and practice what I like to call, Mind over Bladder. The sacrifices you have to make for the work.

Hope you all have a wonderful day! Have a great Thanksgiving! I love you all!
--Elder Beau Hart

The Great and Abominable Church

The Great and Abominable Church‏: November 17th, 2014

Hey Family and Friends,

This week was great! We've been finding some new people and putting more on baptismal date. Elder Sjoblom and I decided that hey, if you are only going to get one visit with them, might as well find out if they would be baptized if you came back. This has been such a struggle in San Jose--we have great initial contact, but nobody seems to be able to keep their follow-up visits, which makes it hard to bring out members because "nothing's worse than being the missionary who cried team-up". (Elder Sjoblom's Dying Wisdom) But despite all of that, I can say that we've been blessed so much this past week.

Jose, one of our investigators came to a baptismal service in the other ward and loved it. His only hold up right now is that fact that he works at the "great and abominable church" on Sundays--Church's Chicken. How can I compete with that deep fried deliciousness? Maybe we'll ask Bishop to change the sacrament bread from that dry, gluten-free chalk, to some nice batter-fried, crunchy drumsticks this week? Could you imagine how many people we could get to attend?

On a bright note, we had Zone Conference this week and I got to see so many of my friends, but sadly, so many of them are going home next week--including my companion. Change comes and sometimes hurts, but it's for our good. The Church is true!

Mucho amor,

Elder Beau Hart

Not Much

Not Much: November 10th, 2014

Yo what up Family and Friends,

I hope you are all doing well. Things are going smoothly here in San Jose, Missouri. Elder Sjoblom and I are still tracking down people who are interested in the gospel and teaching those that are. We had meetings again in Independence this week. It's always fun to get up before the rooster for the pilgrimage to crazy Independence and see a bunch of my friends here in the mission. Other than that, Elder Sjoblom and I are doing well. Oh and I forgot to wish you a Happy Halloween a while back, or Happy 50 Cent Corn Dogs at Sonic Day!
Mucho amor,

Elder Beau Hart

This One Has Vomit In It‏

This One Has Vomit In It‏: October 27th, 2014

Dear Family and Friends,

This week was interesting. Every week is interesting here in Dirty Joe (what missionaries have so affectionately named my area), but there is so little time to sum it up.
Highlights would have to be:
Cutting a single mother's lawn this week for service. She had an electronic weed wacker. I stopped about halfway through and just pulled out a knife and trimmed the lawn it was that bad.
An AMAZING couple that is coming back to church and planning on going to the temple had us over this week and we discussed the worst meals we have ever eaten. I talked about the time I had pig lung and the sister had no problem, but she pleaded for Elder Sjoblom to stop describing a wilted salad and after some playful prodding from her husband, puked in front of us, threw a towel over it and then we proceeded to carry on with the lesson. She's pregnant so that makes it okay? I dunno, but I sure did get an ab workout from laughing.
We had a finding fiesta this weekend and found a bunch of new investigators that will hopefully progress soon. Keep it up and make it a great week.
Mucho amor,

Elder Beau Hart
(I DO have photos to send this week, but they involve the up chucking mentioned above, so I won't attach anything. Again, mucho amor!)

Dear Family and Friends,
This week was interesting to say the least. For the majority of the week, Elder Sjoblom and I fought an uphill battle against the nightly sporting events on TV and he captured it perfectly with, “I’m just so sick of competing with the NFL on Sundays.”[1] I’m praying that the Royals and the Chiefs lose soon so people will be humbled and find out that you can pray to God any time, not just when you need a field goal or a homerun.[2]
Besides our fight for primetime each night, we had some fun experiences this week. We headed out to Amazonia, Missouri, population of 312 for dinner one night and we reveled hardcore in the Boonies. We had sloppy joes[3], held pythons, lit a ridiculous bonfire, and got our car mighty dusty. Also, on the list of things that were out of this world, was when Elder Sjoblom and I followed a sweet Baptist we contacted on the street up the hill to drag a dying cat out of the bloody jaws of a neighbor’s pitbull[4]. You never know what’s going to happen as a missionary.
We’ve received a couple of sweet referrals this week and the work is looking like it’s going to progress soon. I’ll let you know what happens next week. Make it a great week.
