Duck Vomit: April 14th, 2014
Hello Family and Friends!
How are you? Another week down in the books, here in Olathe, Kansas. It is currently snowing outside. What a surprise after a week full of sweating and short sleeve shirts!
Elder Tillett and I were so blessed this week. We found a couple of families (pure gold as missionaries) and have high hopes for the coming week! We have plans to set Rocio and Rene and their children on baptismal date this week. It's tricky because they are active Catholic (I know, I know it's the first time I've ever heard of this also.), but have been meeting with missionaries off and on for the past two years. We think they are ready for this next step, so pray for them.
Another highlight: a duck vomited on me while teaching a lesson. In the middle of one of our lessons with Luz, her daughter brought in her pet duck and in the midst of reading a scripture it proceeded to puke all over Elder Tillett's bag and my shoes. But have no fear, Luz still accepted to be baptized on May 31st, so a little spit up is worth it.
This week we had Zone Conference and President Keyes emphasized having an attitude of gratitude and finding happiness in our missions using President Uchtdorf's amazing General Conference talk. It was revelatory and surprisingly I needed it. I love being a missionary! I've learned that happiness is a choice and that with the gospel I've never been happier in my life. The Savior lives and loves each and every one of us.
Make it a great week.
Mucho amor,
Elder Hart
