Week 1 in the Field

Week 1 in the Field: October 14th, 2014

Family and Friends,

This has been possibly the longest week of my life--in a good way of course. Missionary work is busy. It is tough. It is great!

This week was the 50th Anniversary of the Dedication of Liberty Jail. I had the honor of attending because my trainer was in the choir that performed there. All day professors from BYU gave discourses about the jail, people like Alexander Doniphan and others. It was so good and I've come to realize just how historical Independence is for the Church. Everyone needs to come out here and visit all the sites.

Last night, we had the special treat of hearing from Elder M. Russell Ballard. Sadly, I wasn't able to attend the stake center where he was speaking, but it was broadcast to our ward. Apostles are a lot funnier outside of Conference! He was cracking jokes left and right. He spoke about how the Lord is hastening his work and how blessed we are to be a part of it.

We've been teaching a lot. We teach mostly English speaking investigators with a couple Spanish speaking ones. I think I've taught people from every continent in this week. We teach a Burmese family, a Iraqie family, people from Europe and every country in South America.

Con mucho amor.
