Week 3 at the CCM: September 11th, 2013
Dear Family and Friends,
Today we went through the Temple again here in Mexico City. It's crazy to see thousands of people walking, countless cars almost crashing into each other every moment, and just all the insanity of humanity bustling about, and then smack in the middle of it is the serene House of the Lord. I love it!
It's weird being in Mexico for 9/11. It's just a quiet thing for all of the Americans here. My prayers and heart go out to the U.S. right now. Being in Mexico City has made me appreciate the States so much and the land we live in.
This Saturday is the party for what is basically the "4th of July" for Mexico. We're learning the anthem and there are decorations everywhere for it. I'm very excited. I'll let you know how it goes.
The food is rapidly transitioning to American down here. Monday we had Chicken Courdon Blue (don't quote me on that spelling). It's good, but at the same time odd. I've become accustomed to Mexican food and like it very very much.
Also, tell anyone headed down here that a nice umbrella is worth it's weight in gold. The store's umbrella's break after one use. It's the rainy season and Mother Nature commonly just pours down torrential amounts of water.
Quickhighlights of the Week:
The man cleaning the bathrooms was playing "Safe and Sound" by Capital Cities yesterday. MUSIC!!!
We had pizza on Tuesday.
The Devotional last night was from an area 70 and had everyone tearing up from the Spirit.
The one and only Bailey Love got her mission call to Columbus, Ohio!
Love you all!
Love,
Elder Beau Hart
