Week 2 at the CCM‏

Week 2 at the CCM‏:   September 4th, 2014

Dear Family and Friends,

I have seen miracles down here at the CCM--they got maple syrup in the Lunchroom! That was one of the most spiritual experiences of the week. No more dry pancakes and choking down waffles!   The food is still delicious. I seems hard to put on weight down here, like they do at Provo, because most of the food is meat, rice, beans, corn tortilla and a bunch of fruit on the side. The only thing that gets me is the cereal--breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Pretty sure only my mom will get that SNL reference.
Week 2 has been busy. We went to the Mexico City Temple and we've been bumped up two ''investigators" a week. They're really just our teachers acting as people from their missions. I'm losing hair over these lessons because you want to teach them what you know and have been taught your entire life, but now you have to say it with a toddlers vocabulary and solely in the present tense. Spanish is coming slow, but it's coming nonetheless.

Today on P-Day, I got a haircut. That may not sound big, but basically I sat down in a chair, the lady rattled off something in Spanish, and without a clue as to what she said, I said, "Si, si, bien." (Yes, yes, good.) And then she began to lop off my hair. Talk about putting your trust in the Lord.
Quick highlights: I got to see Elder Hayden Schenck off this week. (Attached is a photo) Wish him well in Idaho! I see Elder Shea Smith almost daily around the campus and without fail calls me some name I don't know in Spanish. My pity-brother for life, Travis Pitts, got called to Brisbane, Australia! I love you Travvy!

Love you all!
