The South America Area of Independence: November 4th, 2014
Dear Family and Friends,
This week has been great! Missionary work is great!
Our focus over the past week has been to get investigators to attend church and yesterday we had seven attend! It was so amazing to see them progress and come to a completely foreign environment because they want to come closer to the Lord. We are very blessed here in the Riverview Ward. The rest of our district struggles with finding investigators and end up tracting a lot. Riverview is kind of like the South America of our mission. We have contact and investigators falling out of our pockets.
The other day we had our district meeting up in Liberty, Missouri. Man, I'm used to the ghetto. Elder Verkler got mad at me because the whole time driving through the town I kept making remarks like, "Holy cow, who lives there?", "Look at these lawns they're beautiful!", and "Can you believe there's no broken glass on the sidewalks?" Needless to say, I'm coming to feel like East Kansas City--"the Hood"--is my home.
Oh! We helped Sister Maxwell move this week and I killed my first cockroach! It was super fast and made a quite disgusting sound when it popped. I'm not a big fan of these buggers.
We had an interesting conversation with some Baptist Missionaries Thursday--they were super eager to tell us we are preaching the wrong doctrine. My response, "Read the Book of Mormon and have a good day!"
The work is coming along well. Mom, don't worry about me. We have a car, so I'm in more danger of getting fat, than I am of getting shot.
Con mucho amor,
Elder Hart
(Attached are pictures of my dashing district and the house we moved Sister Maxwell into. Not too shabby, huh?)
